"Pools V2" is a sound art installation made of water, india ink, sonic frequencies, trays, 2x4’s, steel, and surface transducers. Three trays holding india ink dyed water are positioned inside of a rectangular steel box with three circular cutouts on the top face framing each pool. Through surface transducers, sonic frequencies activate the pools, initiating patterns and vibrations across the surface of the water. This phenomena allows sound to become a sculptural medium, as infinite iterations of wound waves move across the matter. This work is part of an ongoing series investigating how sonic energy relates to space, matter, and the self.
